What we do for your privacy

Unility is an app that originates from the needs of a student, and aims to help other students in their daily university life. In this aim, we do not collect any data that is not required for the functionality of the app and its features. In this goal, unility does not collect data for analysis or advertisement. There are certain information required for unility and/or "unility mobile" to work. These are the university of the student and their location. The location information never leaves the device, and is only used for the map and transportation features of the app during the usage of these features. The transmission of the university information is necessary, as the app needs the relevant data to display. This data is completely anonymized and shared with third parties. Outside of this purpose this data is never used by the app, is not shared with unility, "unility mobile" and/or third party service providers.

Data Security

Unility and/or third party service providers do not collect personal information and does not share them in a way that can be linked to a person. When the user uses "unility" and/or "unility mobile", the university selected by the user is used for communication with data centers. This transaction usually happens with third party service providers, however during such transmissions no other data that can be tracked and/or connected to a person is transmitted, included but not limited to:

Device ID
Advertisement ID
Precise Device Location

It should be noted that the internet protocol address used during the transmission can be used to locate the approximate physical location of a user when the transmission happened. This data is necessary for the functionality of the internet. This is often not that important as most internet service providers assign dynamic internet protocol addresses to devices over time. However if you wish to keep this data point private, you can use proxy or virtual private networks.
